Dial & Case Design

I think the dial design of this G-Shock watch is quite interesting. You’ll notice the hands seem a little shorter than other watches, this is to make the digital display easier to read, it’s a clever idea to be fair. If you’re into your dual display watches, then that’s something you’re going to appreciate. Why not have a read of this 5 top analogue digital watch list next. I think my favourite part of the dial has to be the sense of depth you get, I just think it’s been done really well here.

A key feature of G-Shock watches is their durability. You’ll notice the stainless steel casing of this watch is wrapped in this protective, thick, durable resin. This gives it all the protection it need for its shock and magnetism resistance. This is what gives the watch that durable, chunky design.

Type Of Crystal

Protecting the dial we have a mineral crystal glass, found in many of the G-Shock watches. The reason being, it’s strong, and affordable. Mineral glass is specially hardened to offers a great level of scratch resistance. It’s also quite shatter resistance, better so than sapphire glass, making it ideal for this style of timepiece.

Watch Movement

Powering the watch is a popular Japanese quartz movement. These are often used as their accurate and reliable, as well as helping in keep the overall cost of the watch down. It’s found in most the G-Shock watches across their range.

Watch Size

I mentioned earlier on that this is a brilliant oversized timepiece. And I meant it, the watch is BIG. With a casing diameter of 51mm and a thickness of 17mm this should stand out quite nicely on your wrist. If you wanted a big & chunky design, well, you got it.

Strap

The strap is made of the same durable resin that protects the casing of the watch. It’s comfortable and sturdy, with a width of 28mm, much wider than your standard strap, but perfectly in-keeping with this type of oversized design. It fastens with a typical buckle style clasp that’s simple to operate.

Extra features

As you’d expect from the Casio-G-Shock range, you get a whole host of extra useful features with this watch such as the following: Auto-LED, magnetic resistance, world time function, stopwatch, timer, dialy alarms, snooze, speed display, automatic calendar. To get more details on any of those features, check this detailed Casio page.

Water Resistance Rating

This watch has a water resist rating of 200m. A rating of 200m / 20 Bar makes this watch suitable for professional marine activity, serious surface water sports and skin diving.
