Hello, today I’m doing a Rotary GB90515/10 review. I recently wrote an article on the 10 best Rotary Skeleton watches for men and promised I’d take a closer look at more of Rotary’s best skeleton watches. Watch Review

Dial & Case Design

One of the key features of this watch is it’s open heart dial that exposed the Swiss automatic movement at work below. I love these skeleton style watches so it’s always enjoyable for me to feature them on the site. The watch has this popular two tone gold & silver coloured design that continues along the strap of the watch. The hands and Roman numerals are also PVD gold plated to fit in with the rest of the watch design.

Type Of Crystal

On the front and rear of the watch, we actually have sapphire glass. This is some of the strongest glass you can get for a watch with a Mohs hardness rating of 9, making it extremely hard to scratch. This is really good and actually what I was hoping to see considering the price.

Watch Movement

At the heart of this timepiece is an impressive Swiss made automatic movement. Swiss movements tend to be the most desired for their superior quality to most other automatic movements. A great benefit of an automatic watch is that it never requires a battery due to the fact it’s powered by the movement of the wearer’s wrist.

Watch Size

The watch is a little large with a casing diameter measuring 42mm and a casing thickness of 13mm. It’s considered large but case sizes around 40mm tend to be the most popular for men’s watches at the moment.

Strap

The strap continues the two tone design and features what is actually my preferred style clasp, a butterfly clasp. Personally, I find these easier to operate than a fold over clasp.

Extra features

Another one of the best features of this watch has to be the exhibition caseback that you can see a picture of below. An exhibition caseback allows you to take a look at the automatic movement through the rear casing of the watch. It’s a feature I’ve always been very fond of.

Water Resistance Rating

This watch has a water resist rating of 100m. A rating of 100m / 10 Bar makes this watch suitable for recreational surfing, swimming, snorkeling, sailing and water sports.

Watch Disadvantages

  1. If left unworn for more than a day or so the watch will need to be reset and the time adjusted before wearing again. This is a standard process for automatic watches.

My Final Thoughts On This Rotary GB90515/10 Review:

The Rotary GB90515/10 is perfect for people who have liked our previous Rotary skeleton watch reviews but wanted something a little more upmarket. The switch to a Swiss made watch with a Swiss automatic movement and a sapphire glass is ideal if you wanted higher quality components. Overall a great example of a Swiss made Rotary skeleton watch.

After looking into the watch design, quality, features, and pricing this watch received an 8.5/10 from us at The Watch Blog.
