I’ve always known the Invicta brand for their impressive oversized chunky watches, and this model ticks all those boxes. The watch is really big with a 48mm casing diameter so do keep this in mind if you’re looking to buy one, if you have a smaller wrist it may not be so suitable for you. One of the most notable things about this watch is how expensive it looks, the gold plating with the brushed and polished finish really adds to this illusion, but it’s actually a fairly affordable watch which is great news.
The face of the watch features 3 chronograph sub-dials, these show a 60-second timer, 30 minutes and 1/10th of a second display. Next to the sub dials we have the date display which is made easier to read with the magnifying bubble on the glass. It’s also great to see a good use of high-quality lume of the watch hands and hour markers, this makes it much easier to read the watch in dim lit conditions.
The glass protecting the dial is this flame-fusion crystal you find on quite a few Invicta watches. Flame fusion has actually become pretty popular as it offers a really good level of scratch resistance, better than mineral glass in many cases
As for the movement, it’s a simple Japanese quartz, these are fairly inexpensive but are reliable and accurate.
I mentioned this is an oversized watch, and it’s huge. The casing diameter is 48mm which is considered an extra large watch. The thickness is also pretty large at 18mm, this gives the watch a real chunky feel, some people like this, some don’t.
The watch has a 200m water resistance rating which is really good. A 200m water rating or 20 ATM is suitable for professional marine activity, serious surface water sports and skin diving. It’s worth noting thought that the crown is just pushed down, rather than screwed.
It features a26mm wide stainless steel strap with a fold over clasp and safety catch. These are very common, but personally I”m not a fan of them as I find them a little tricky to operate.

The Invicta 0072 is a very impressive looking watch, Invicta really do a great job with their oversized designs that they’re so well known for. The gold plating makes this one stand out even more and gives it that luxurious finish. Overall it’s a great looking watch that’s perfect for people seeking oversized watches.
