My Initial Thoughts On The Casio Wave Ceptor WVA-M640TD-1AER
It may well not look like much on the face of it but this Casio watch is full of useful features like the following
- Radio controlled, a built-in radio signal receiver ensures that the exact time is displayed across Europe, The United States and Japan AND China
- Stop watch, accurate measurement of elapsed time with a touch of a button.
- Daily alarm, sounds each day at the time you set.
- Countdown timer, countdown start time setting range: 1 minute to 24 hours (1-minute increments and 1-hour increments).
- Multi time zone, local times can be called up quickly and easily for four different time zones.
- It’s solar powered, a Solar cell provides power for operation.
- Neo-display, a luminous coating provides long-term illumination in the dark after only a short exposure to light.
- Battery level indicator, an indicator shows the current battery level.
See what I’m saying about it being full of useful features? For me personally I really love the use of a solar cell to power the watch, drawing the energy from light is a great way to power a watch, any Eco-friendly power system is something I tend to favour.
This watch keeps highly accurate time with it’s built in radio signal receiver, once a day it adjusts itself to the correct time. The accurate quartz movement ensures you keep very accurate throughout the day as well.
Another great aspect of this watch is that they’ve used titanium instead of stainless steel. Titanium is more costly but is more lightweight and stronger than stainless steel. The casing and the band are made of titanium which makes it ideal for those with sensitive skin and allergies to metal.
The Casio WVA-M640TD-1AER has a rather classic design to it with the shape and size but the dual analogue digital display shows you how modern it is.
Type of glass
The Casio WVA-M640TD-1AER features a specially hardened mineral glass, this is designed to be highly scratch resistant. It’s exactly what I would expect to find in this price range so I’m quite happy with this.
The casing diameter of the watch is 44mm which is classed as a large. The thickness of the case is 13mm which is also considered a large. To be honest though this tends to be the standard size you see around these days as bigger watches have become more popular.
This watch offers a day and date display automatic calendar, due to it’s radio controlled nature once it’s set it will always show the correct date. Useful for those who dislike having to correct the date at the start of each month.
Watch strap and clasp
The Casio WVA-M640TD-1AER has a titanium strap as I mentioned earlier. The width of the strap is 25mm making it fairly wide, standard straps are 20-22mm. This does fit in nicely with the 44mm large casing though. The clasp is a fold over clasp with push button release.

For me it’s easy to see why this is one of Casio’s top watches, offering lots of useful features and great value for money is sure to be a winner for many.
