G-Shock G-7710-1ER Watch Review Summary

My rating: 8/10. Excellent watch. Value for money, durable design.

Hello, today I’m doing a G-Shock G-7710-1ER review. Yes another G-Shock watch, we’re really on a roll now. This is less bulky than your typical G-Shock watch so I’m sure this is going to appeal to people who aren’t so fond of the chunkier designs.

I hope you enjoy this G-Shock G-7710-1ER review below.

Watch Review

This isn’t your typical oversized G-Shock watch, this is a much more manageable, slimmer take on their design. This is a digital only model that has a reverse display so you have a black background with white writing for a display that’s easier to read. An interesting feature of the watch is the ability to alter the contrast level to your liking, not something you see in many digital watches.

As you find on most G-Shock watches we have this mineral crystal glass protecting the dial. Mineral crystal is specially hardened to offer a good level of scratch resistance and is ideal for its high level of shatter resistance. When you’re making a watch that’s built to withstand drops, shatter resistance is important.

The watch still has this durable resin surrounding the casing, it’s not as thick as other models but it still gives you a very good level of shock resistance. A lot of people prefer this slimmed down version of a G-Shock watch.

I mentioned this G-Shock watch is slimmer than a lot of the other models, but it is still a large watch. The casing diameter is 46mm whilst the thickness is 15mm. So it is still a little chunky, just not to the extent you find on many of the other G-Shock timepieces.

It has an array of functions that you may find useful. These include a stopwatch, multi-timezone display, countdown timer, lap timer, adjustable contrast, and a backlight. There’s a day and date display that automatically adjusts itself for the varying amount of days in each month. A lot of people have been impressed with how easy it was to setup and operate the watch.

As for the movement, we have a standard Japanese made quartz movement. They’re reliable, accurate, and affordable. This affordability helps to achieve these lower prices that you find in many of the G-Shock watches.

The strap is fairly wide at 26mm but this is in-keeping with the rest of the watch design. It fastens using a single prong buckle clasp.

The watch has an impressive 200m water resistance rating. This makes the watch suitable for professional marine activity, serious surface water sports and skin diving.

  4. Useful backlight for easier reading in dim lit conditions
  5. Mineral glass offers a good level of scratch & shatter resistance.

Watch Disadvantages

  1. It’s smaller than many oversized G-Shock watches, but it is still 46mm which may not be ideal for people with smaller wrists.

My Final Thoughts On This G-Shock G-7710-1ER Review:

The G-Shock GA-400-1BER isn’t your standard G-Shock watch, if you were after that massive oversized finish you love from their this collection, then this may not be the right G-Shock watch for you. That being said, many people have been after a smaller G-Shock so this could be ideal for them. Again it’s another extra tough watch with useful functions that’s very affordable so I’d highly recommend checking it out.

After looking into the watch design, quality, features, and pricing this watch received an 8/10 from us at The Watch Blog.
