Review Daniel Wellington 0508DW Women’s Analogue Quartz Watch.
Hello everyone, today I’m doing a Daniel Wellington 0508DW review. I’ve reviewed other Daniel Wellington watches in the past and have to say I’ve always been very impressed. They lead the way in the minimalist approach to watch design, accompanied with great affordable prices you can see why they’ve become one of the most popular choices of watches between men and women alike. My Initial Thoughts On This Watch
Daniel Wellington excel with their minimalist watch design and this is another perfect example. The black leather strap blends perfectly with the subtle rose gold casing and detailing. The use of the rose gold detailing on the large white face works really well as well, you just can’t fault this design they’ve gone for. It’s quite the timeless design that I can’t see going out of popularity any time in the near future. People just seem to love these watches, and I have to admit, they offer great value for money.
Type of glass
Most of the Daniel Wellington watches feature the specially hardened mineral glass, this one included. Mineral glass is what I would expect for a watch in this price range, it’s one of the most common glass types you would find. Mineral glass is specially treated to offer a good level of scratch resistance, any scratches that do manage to get through can often be buffed out.
Size
The casing diameter of this watch is 36mm which is classed as a large for women’s watches. Daniel wellington watches have gone for this oversize feel to their watches which is indeed very popular at the moment. The thickness of the casing is 6mm which is nice and slim. The thin case adds a sleek dynamic to the watch which people tend to prefer.
Calendar
You’ll notice there is no calendar feature on this watch, I think this was a good decision from a design point of view. The simplistic design works a lot better with the bare dial and I feel sticking in a date display may have ruined this on the watch.
Watch strap and clasp
As with most Daniel Wellington watches this model has gone for a lovely genuine leather black strap. The width of the strap is 18mm which sits in very nicely with the size of the watch casing. It uses a standard buckle clasp as I’m sure everyone is more than happy with.
