Timex Weekender Watch Review
The Timex Weekender T2p4959J has a very simplistic minimalist style dial that many people seem to appreciate. Personally, I’m quite a fan of this style, the dial is very easy to read with nothing cluttering it up at all. The seconds hand can be a little hard to read at times as it’s pretty close in colour to the dial.
Of course, you could always opt for a Timex Weekender Fairfield Chronograph instead which as the name suggests features a 3 sub dial chronograph display as well as a date function.
The casing is made of stainless steel and has a slimline finish to it.
Timex Weekender Type Of Crystal
The Timex Weekender features a mineral crystal glass. This is a very common glass that’s found in most watches in this price range. Mineral glass is specially treated to offer a higher level of scratch and knock resistance.
Timex Weekender Watch Movement
The watch is powered by a reliable and accurate quartz style movement. Quartz movements are popular as they’re often cheap and reliable requiring very little in the way of maintenance.
Timex Weekender Watch Size
The casing of the Timex Weekender 40 has a diameter of 40mm, not including the crown. The thickness of the case is approximately 9mm which makes it a nice slim watch.
Timex Weekender 40 Strap
This Timex Weekender features a soft genuine leather strap that has a width of approximately 20mm. It fastens with a traditional buckle style clasp with pull through hoops.
Timex Weekender Extra features
This watch features Timex’s patented Indiglo nightlight technology. This means the entire dial can be illuminated with a bluish green light evenly at the push of a button. Indiglo is very highly recommended and pretty much sets the standard for what other watches you should aim for when it comes to luminescence.
Timex Weekender 40 Water Resistance Rating
The Timex Weekender has a fairly standard water resistance rating. It’s rated at 30m or 3 bar making it suitable for everyday use. Splash/rain resistant. Not suitable for showering, bathing, swimming, snorkelling, water related work and fishing.
