Seiko SNZF15 Watch Review
This is another one of the most popular Seiko 5 watches available, it’s a model aimed at diver’s, it has a 100m water resistance rating and features that popular large diver’s watch design. As you’d expect from a dive watch it has a high visibility dial with these large bold hands and hour markers that come with a good coating of lume for easier reading in dim lit conditions. A lot of people will be a fan of this Pepsi style coin edged bezel that adds a nice splash of colour to the design.
The casing is made of a strong stainless steel and features an exhibition caseback that allows you to take a look at the inner workings of the watch, one of my favourite features that’s for sure.
Type Of Crystal
Like many other Seiko 5 watches, this model uses Seiko’s proprietary Hardlex crystal glass. It’s specially hardened to offer a good level of scratch and knock resistance as well as being quite shatter resistant too.
Powering this watch is a Japanese automatic 7S36 movement. This is a 23 jewel movement that beats at 21,600 BPH giving it 6 ticks per second which is a nice smooth movement compared to a quartz at 1 tick per second. This movement has a fairly good 43 hour power reserve and has no manual winding or hacking feature.
This is a little larger than some of the previous Seiko 5 watches I’ve featured. It has more of a diver’s style to it and as such has a nice big 41mm casing diameter, not including the crown. The thickness measures 12mm which is a decent middle size too. Overall, this should prove a popular size as a 41mm casing is around the most desired sizes.
The strap is made of a sturdy stainless steel and has a width of approximately 20mm. It fastens with a fold over clasp including a safety catch.
The dial has an easy to read finish with a good use of lume on the hands and hour markers.
There’s a day and date display located at the 3 o’clock position.
The watch features an exhibition caseback that allows you to take a look at the inner workings of the watch.
Water Resistance Rating
This model is aimed at people looking for Seiko dive watches and comes with a pretty decent 100m water resistance rating. This 100m or 10 bar rating makes is suitable for recreational surfing, swimming, snorkeling, sailing and water sports.
