Hello, today we’re taking a look at 9 of the most popular kinetic pulsar watches for men. Pulsar have been around for a very long time and are a reliable brand. My favourite in today’s selection has to be number 3. I like the oversized style and the blue dial is pretty damn nice.
What makes the Kinetic watches so good? Well, Seiko & Pulsar watches both feature this Kinetic movement, it’s a mixture between an automatic and a quartz, I’ll explain in more detail. As with an automatic watch, these have a pendulum fitted to the rear of the watch, however, instead of tightening a main spring it’s connected to a large gear pinion. This can then rotate at speeds up to 100,000 rpm and generates an electric charge that is used to recharge a storage facility or battery. The rest of the watch timekeeping is then operated by a quartz movement.
This type of movement effectively gives you the benefit of an automatic but also can hold is charge for a much longer time.
The first Pulsar Kinetic watch we’re taking a look at is the PAR087X1. The watch features this great high contrast dial that’s very easy to read with high visibility in mind. The hands and numbers are coated in Lumibrite which makes them easy to read in dim lit conditions too. It runs on a Pulsar Kinetic movement and has a 100m water resistance rating, a great day to day watch.

I really like the detailing on this Pulsar watch, it adds a bit of added flair to the overall design. The watch itself features that popular Japanese Pulsar kinetic movement that charges up the watch from the movement of the wearer’s wrist.
