Michael Kors Ladies Chronograph Watch MK5165
Hello today I’m doing a Michael Kors ladies MK5165 Review. I was intrigued to look at some of the best selling women’s watches and this made it quite high up the list and I wanted to take a look at it properly and find out why. In recent years the popularity of Michael Kors watches has absolutely boomed. I think the only thing slowing it down lately is the equally huge boom in Daniel Wellington watches. So what’s up with Micael Kors watches, specifically this MK5165? Does it offer value for money? Let’s get into it and find out.

My Initial Thoughts On This Watch
They’ve gone for a pretty simple yet popular design for the dial with the chronograph features but managing to add in just a bit of bling with the cubic zirconia detailing around the outside of the casing. When it comes to adding bling to watches there is a right way and a wrong way to do it, too much bling and you quite quickly have a tacky looking watch, however Michael Kors have definitely done the right thing here and I think it works well. Having taken a quick look at the parts I can see it offers some fair value for money. I would suggest checking out my top 5 women’s watches under £200 to see what else you can also get for your money before making a decision though.
Type of glass
This watch comes with exactly the glass I was expecting, a mineral crystal display. This really is the standard for watches in this price range, the next step up would be a sapphire crystal and you shouldn’t expect that here. A mineral glass is specially hardened to resist most scratches so it should be fine for most day to day wear.
Size
This watch is definitely an oversized boyfriend style watch with a casing diameter of 38mm. This is actually classed as an extra large for women so if you’re after a small dainty watch do go check out my other recommended watches for women. Boyfriend watches are becoming more and more popular so you can understand why lot’s of people are going for this watch. The thickness is 12mm which is classed as large and fits in nicely with the 38mm casing. Overall expect a chunky boyfriend style fit on your wrist.
Calendar
This watch features a standard date display which is almost hidden at the 6 o’clock position on the watch, on first glance I actually missed it. I think it’s nice how they stealthily fitted this in as it can sometimes be hard to achieve on chronograph watches.
Watch strap and clasp
The watch strap is made of stainless steel with a standard width of 20mm which will sit quite nicely. The clasp is a standard fold over style as you’d expect with this type of watch.

With a great design from an extremely popular brand you can see why Michael Kors have done so well with the MK5165. It’s one of their best selling watches for a reason, people love it. Value for money is pretty fair in my opinion. This really comes down to the design and if it’s what you’re looking for. It’s the perfect example of a boyfriend style watch and that really is what a lot of people are after recently.
