Watch Review

Dial & Case Design

This model from G-Shock uses a reversed digital display that seems to be pretty popular, to be honest. The white design of the casing gives the watch a more summery finish without going overboard as well. Overall the casing has that typical chunky design, this is due to the thick protective resin the surrounds the stainless steel casing.

Type Of Crystal

On the front of the watch, we have a specially hardened mineral crystal glass. This type of glass is treated to make it extra resistant to scratches & knocks. It’s also very shatter resistant that’s ideal for a watch designed to withstand shock.

Watch Movement

The watch utilizes a Japanese quartz movement that’s powered by Casio’s Tough Solar technology. This means the watch charges via sunlight and doesn’t require any battery changes. Quartz movements are known for their accuracy and reliability with very little need for maintenance.

Watch Size

G-Shock timepieces are known for their oversized style and this model is no different. The casing diameter measures 53mm and has a thickness of 17mm. You can definitely consider this a chunky timepiece that will get noticed on your wrist.

Strap

The strap is made of a white rubber resin that’s comfortable and extremely durable. It uses a double tang clasp to make it extra secure. The strap has a width of 25mm that’s in keeping with the larger design of the watch.

Extra features

G-Shock are known for their multifunction capabilities and this timepiece is no different. The key feature of this watch is its use of Tough Solar technology. Extra functions of this watch include a world time display, world time display, automatic calendar,  countdown timer, 5 alarms, super led light, stopwatch. There’s also a display flasher, that’s a light diode that flashes as soon as an alarm, a countdown-time or the hour signal has been reached.

Water Resistance Rating

The water resistance level of this watch is 200m, this is what you find in many of the G-Shock watches and something I’m always impressed with. A rating of 200m / 20 Bar / 600ft makes this watch suitable for professional marine activity, serious surface water sports and skin diving.

My Final Thoughts On This G-Shock GR-8900A-7ER Review:

The G-Shock GD-100MS-3ER is a very chunky, popular watch. As I’ve come to expect from Casio’s G-Shock range, this timepiece offers some very good value for money. It’s best suited for people who are after a durable timepiece, perhaps for work or sports. I’m a big fan of the Solar technology so that’s a big plus in my mind. Overall a great watch, the only drawback would be that it’s not ideal for people with smaller wrists, so keep that in mind.

After looking into the watch design, quality, features, and pricing this watch received an 8/10 from us at The Watch Blog.
