Cross Watches Review – Are They Good?

Cross Watches Review

Hello everyone, today I’m going to be putting together an Cross watches review and following it up by taking a look at some of their most popular timepieces.

To start things off I’ll be introducing the Cross brand and giving you some information on the history of the brand. After that I’ll take you through some of the best Cross watches available.

Brief Cross Watches History

Cross watches are owned and produces by the A.T. Cross Company that was founded back in 1846 by Richard Cross in Providence, Rhode Island. They initially started out manufacturing gold and silver casings for pencils which reflected the Cross family’s history as jewellers.

Richard Cross passed over the company to his son Alonzo T. Cross who led the company to produce many new innovative writing instruments including forerunners of the modern mechanical pencils.

These days, as well as writing instruments the Cross company also manufactures a large range of wristwatches, cufflinks, desk accessories, and leather goods.

Are Cross Watches Any Good?

The A.T. Cross company have always been proud to produce quality items from their pens all the way through to their wide range of watches. They are primarilly focused on the affordable watch market offering a huge selection of styles and designs for both men and women.

All in all it’s fair to say the watches are well built with quality parts that offer value for money in my opinion.

First up in today’s look at the top Cross watches for men is this rather smart looking dress watch. This Cross watch is made with a stainless steel rounded casing with a diameter of 40mm and an 8mm thickness making it quite a thin watch. The strap is made of a black genuine leather and fastens with a buckle style clasp. Note that this is quite a thing strap at just 16mm.

I like the dial design on this Cross watch with the partially blacked out date ring which allows you to see one date fully at a time at the 6 o’clock position on the dial. They’ve used slim silver coloured baton style hour markers as well as thin long hands to give the watch that luxury look too.

This affordable Cross watch is powered by a quartz movement which gives you accurate and reliable timekeeping without costing the world. They’ve used a mineral crystal glass to protect from scratches and shattering, a common choice for watches in this price range.
